Known as the Bass Capital of the West, Clear Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake.  Each year more than 25 fishing tournaments take place on Clear Lake.  Largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, bluegill, rainbow trout and carp are among the catches.

 


Lake County offers many water-related activities for people of all ages, including swimming, sailing, parasailing, water skiing, knee boarding, boating, jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing and much more.  Clear Lake is home to the "NorCal Boat & Ski Races" each summer and it draws a contingent of seaplane owners and flyers for the annual "Splash In" event. 

Model seaplan enthusiasts often converge in Lake County for a meet.
 Many businesses offer a variety of watercraft available for public use.


Lake County has many species of birds to watch and in novel ways, like kayaking  and taking your binoculars.


Make Lake County your Northern California golf vacation destination. With four 9-hole courses and one 18-hole championship course in the area, golfers will find a variety of settings and beautiful scenery with challenges to test the most experience golfers skills.

The Indian Nature Trail is a self-guiding trail that will help you understand how the local indians used the native plants of this area to meet their daily needs.  The trail, an easy quarter-mile walk, passes through the site of what was once a Pomo village.







The bicycling pathways range from beginner to advanced, short to long distances, and include extensive State and Federal lands.
